Race-1 of the Pirelli French Round ends with the extraordinary victory of Alvaro Bautista.
There is no shortage of twists and turns on the Magny-Cours circuit. First Rea (Kawasaki) then Razgatlioglu (Yamaha) crashed on lap three, leaving Bautista (who started from fourth) in pursuit of Redding (BMW). The Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team rider takes on lap after lap increasing confidence with the tires and with his Ducati Panigale V4R and on the seventh lap overtakes the English rider to take the lead and then close with a large margin.

“ It is an important result on a circuit that is not easy for us. We made a good choice in terms of tires even if at the start I made a small mistake which luckily didn’t make me lose much ground. In the first laps I tried above all to become familiar with the tires and after the crash of Toprak and Johnny I tried to calmly take the measures to overtake Redding. The lead (56 points) in the standings? I prefer to focus on the track than on the standings. Tomorrow will be another important day”.
